Hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers – Michigan Section and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan, this annual one-day conference brings together professionals from across the state to explore innovative solutions to today’s infrastructure challenges. The conference provides an opportunity for engineers, public agency leaders, consultants, and industry partners to learn from one another, share ideas, and discuss projects and initiatives shaping Michigan’s infrastructure.
The event will feature sixteen (16) educational breakout sessions, offering attendees practical strategies and insights on a variety of infrastructure topics and projects impacting communities throughout Michigan. Participants will gain exposure to innovative solutions, real-world project experiences, and emerging trends affecting the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure across the state. The conference also provides valuable opportunities to network with industry leaders, connect with clients and colleagues, and earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
We are pleased to announce that the morning keynote address will be delivered by Bill Burke, a certified performance coach, speaker, author, and former Michigan State Spartans football quarterback who led the Spartans to victory in the 1999 Citrus Bowl under Coach Nick Saban. Today, Bill works with leaders and organizations to develop high-performance mindsets and shares lessons on leadership, resilience, and achieving success beyond the field.
The afternoon keynote address will be delivered by Jen Flood, State Budget Director for the State of Michigan. In her role, Director Flood is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the state’s budget and overseeing key financial and management functions across state government. Prior to becoming Budget Director, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, overseeing policy, legislative affairs, and federal affairs.

Breakout Session Overview
The 2026 Michigan Infrastructure Conference received sixteen breakout session proposals representing engineering firms, public agencies, and academic institutions from across Michigan and beyond. The proposed sessions cover a wide range of infrastructure topics, including wastewater system resiliency, major transportation investments, emerging contaminant response, road safety technology, megaproject delivery, and new approaches to infrastructure monitoring.
These sessions highlight real-world projects, practical engineering solutions, and innovative technologies currently shaping infrastructure across Michigan, offering attendees valuable insights that can be applied to projects and challenges within their own communities and organizations.
