2026 Michigan Infrastructure Conference – Thursday, May 7, 2026

Call for Proposals

ACEC/Michigan and the ASCE Michigan Section are pleased to announce that the Call for Breakout Session Proposals for the 2026 Michigan Infrastructure Conference (MIC) will open in mid-January 2026. The conference will take place Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing.

The MIC brings together engineering professionals, public-sector leaders, and industry partners to explore emerging trends, share lessons learned, and spotlight innovative solutions shaping Michigan’s infrastructure future. With more than 200 participants at last year’s conference, we anticipate even greater engagement in 2026—and we hope you’ll be part of this year’s program.

Share Your Expertise

We invite engineering firms, government agencies, academic partners, and industry experts to submit breakout session ideas that provide timely, relevant, and practical insights into Michigan’s infrastructure challenges. Potential topics may include:

  • Transportation
  • Water and wastewater
  • Structures
  • Technology and innovation
  • Sustainability
  • Planning and funding
  • Workforce or regulatory issues
  • Or any subject that strengthens Michigan’s engineering community

Session Requirements

  • 50-minute presentation (qualifies for 1 CEU)
  • Presenters must coordinate with all co-presenters before submitting
  • Session descriptions should be brief and concise

After session selections are made, presenters will receive a Word document and one opportunity to submit final description edits.

How to Submit

The proposal submission window will open mid-January 2026 and remain open through the end of February 2026.

All submissions will be reviewed by the MIC Planning Committee, and selected presenters will be notified following the review period.
