3rd Annual Lansing Construction Science Expo
Tuesday, September 30, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Impression 5 Science Center | Lansing, Michigan
This interactive expo introduces middle school students to careers in construction, engineering, architecture and the skilled trades. Through hands-on activity stations and direct interaction with industry professionals, students gain valuable exposure to career paths that build and sustain Michigan’s communities.
Firms and volunteers are encouraged to participate to support workforce development and inspire future talent.
ACEC/Michigan CEO Roundtables
Connect directly with firm leaders and ACEC/Michigan leadership at these regional roundtables, designed to foster dialogue around business trends, policy challenges, and association priorities.

MDOT-ACEC/Michigan Partnering Workshop
February 4–5, 2026
Lansing Center | Lansing, Michigan
The Partnering Workshop is the cornerstone of collaboration between MDOT and the engineering consulting community. The event begins with a Pre-Workshop and Networking Reception on Wednesday, February 4, followed by the full-day Workshop on Thursday, February 5.
Attendees will benefit from technical sessions, agency updates, and opportunities to strengthen professional relationships across the industry.
61st ACEC/Michigan Engineering & Surveying Excellence Awards Gala
Saturday, March 7, 2026 | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The Fillmore Detroit | Detroit, Michigan
Celebrate the best in Michigan engineering and surveying at our annual awards gala. The event honors outstanding projects and individuals who exemplify innovation, quality, and dedication to the built environment.
Held at the iconic Fillmore Detroit, the evening includes networking, a formal dinner, awards presentations, and entertainment.
2026 TRAC Bridge Challenge
Tuesday, April 14, 2026
Amway Grand Plaza | Grand Rapids, Michigan
Set-up and a welcome event are tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 13, with plans to once again host participants and industry partners at Dave & Buster’s the evening before the competition.
The TRAC Bridge Challenge brings together student teams from across Michigan to test their model bridge designs in a fun, competitive environment—showcasing STEM education and future transportation innovators.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are excited to be in the planning stages of the 2026 TRAC Bridge Challenge and are actively seeking volunteers to support this impactful event and the broader TRAC program throughout the year.
Career Exploration Room – April 14, 2026 (8:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
ACEC/Michigan is looking for professionals to engage with students in the Career Exploration Room at the Amway Grand Plaza. Volunteers will discuss their work, answer questions, and help students explore the wide variety of career paths in the AEC industry. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
We are specifically looking for professionals from the following disciplines:
- Planning and Environmental
- Traffic
- Surveying
- Roadway
- Drainage
- Geotechnical
- Mechanical/Electrical
- Structural
- Architecture
- Construction
Year-Round Support Opportunities
If you're also interested in volunteering beyond the event day—such as mentoring students, assisting with logistics, or serving as a judge—your support is welcome at all stages of the TRAC program.

Engineers, Architects & Surveyors Legislative Day
Thursday, April 30, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Heritage Hall at the Michigan State Capitol | Lansing, Michigan
Each year, the organizations that form the Architects-Engineers-Surveyors Legislative Committee (AESLC) jointly host a legislative “lobby” day in Lansing. The goal is to have members of the organizations come to Lansing to visit with their respective legislators and share the issues of importance to the engineering, surveying, and architectural professions.
This in-person event provides a critical opportunity for industry professionals to engage directly with legislators, advocate for policies impacting Michigan’s infrastructure, and help shape the future of our transportation system.

- Advocate for sustainable transportation funding and other key legislative priorities.

Co-hosted by ACEC/Michigan and ASCE Michigan Section, this day-long conference focuses on the policies, trends, and innovations shaping Michigan’s infrastructure. With keynote presentations, technical breakout sessions, and cross-sector networking, this is a must-attend event for professionals committed to advancing Michigan’s infrastructure agenda.
15th Annual Detroit Construction Science Expo

Celebrating its 15th year, the Detroit Construction Science Expo continues to introduce Detroit-area middle school students to careers in construction, engineering, and skilled trades.
