The Partnering Workshop provides the ideal venue for technical information sharing, communication of new policies and procedures, and extensive networking. The event will commence with opening remarks from MDOT Director Brad Wieferich and ACEC/Michigan President Barb Arens. Featuring 46 distinct educational breakout sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 5.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
The afternoon keynote address will be presented by John U. Bacon. John is a New York Times bestselling author, award-winning journalist, professional speaker and former high school teacher and hockey coach. Bacon delivers speeches on the themes taken from his books, and coaching and teaching experiences — including leadership, creativity, storytelling, and motivating the next generation. In 2025, he authored the New York Times Best Seller The Gales of November: The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald, with W.W. Norton/Liveright, the definitive account of the tragic shipwreck from 1975.
ACEC and MDOT leaders will sign the updated Partnership Charter and the winner of the prestigious MDOT-ACEC Partnership Charter Award will be presented.
